Blue Villa Hostel Panglao Bohol Review

In the previous blog, VITA ISOLA LEISURE FARM REVIEW, I shared my insights about this leisure farm resort located in Loon, Bohol. On the same day after visiting Vita Isola, we also went to Panglao Island to stay there for a night as an extension of the birthday celebration.

Anyway, we all wanted to stay in a place where there's a pool so a month before our trip, I already searched online for the best place in terms of budget and of course the amenities. I stumbled upon Blue Villa because it has one of the lowest prices among the many in Panglao. What made me decide to get this are the following:

  • It has a pool
  • It can accommodate more than 15 people including kids
  • The room is huge and everyone of us can fit in
  • There's internet connection
  • We can cook
  • We can bring our own food

The above sold me to the property so I consulted my brothers and they agreed about it. I planned on booking it via my own Airbnb account but I thought I should be able to get a discount by referring someone like my husband and he can book the property instead. That's what we did and we were able to save a few bucks! You may do the same thing too so you could get some discounts.

Going back to my review, let me divide this into sections:

Cleanliness

There was no problem when we talk about the cleanliness of the property. I didn't realize that there are actually houses within the compound but they were really okay with us setting up a party and making noise at night.

The caretaker welcomed us when we arrived at around five in the afternoon, gave us instructions and showed us all that we needed.

The room was also tidy and the sheets were clean as well as the comfort room. The comfort room is located at the second floor where the room is but there's also a public washroom near the pool.

Amenities

I was pretty contented with our booking, everything stated on Airbnb was indeed available. There were enough number of chairs for more than 15 people. The tables are huge, the cooking area was there filled with everything we needed. There were even pots, plates, cups and everything that one would expect for a kitchen. This is very important for us since we were going to cook for the entire one night stay.

There was also WIFI connection available but it was not the internet access was not that fast. Although, I believe this was because we were 15 and all of us were accessing the internet at the same time.

The room has bunk beds made of bamboo and although it was not the most comfortable one, we were able to sleep well that night. We were also given additional sleeping beds too which costs Php 150 per bed and because the room was spacious, we got all the beds still on the floor.

The wash room didn't include soaps though but good thing my parents brought their toiletries.

The pool of course was the best part of the property. It was where we stayed all the time. Our kids loved it and the dining area was just opposite of the pool so we ate while watching others swim! We even swam until 11 in the evening and then swim again in the morning even if it was raining!

Customer Service

I appreciate that the host Karyn, daughter of the property owner but I believe she owns this part of the property already. She was very accommodating, she even allowed early checkin but unfortunately, we arrived late.

Their caretaker also took good care of us. She pointed us to the right direction if we needed to, she also had answered our questions and even provided our needs such as the extra mattresses, the pool floaters and towels for free!

Thank you so much for Blue Villa Hostel for allowing us to stay in the property!
